Open Innovation
Innovation rarely happens in isolation.
At Obuda University, we believe that true innovation emerges when knowledge flows freely between academia, business, and society. The goal of open innovation is to break down barriers and enable collaboration that creates shared value.
From idea to shared solution
Instead of closed development processes, open innovation encourages collective thinking and the meeting of diverse perspectives. It connects researchers, students, startups, and industry partners to work together on solving real-world challenges.
Co-creation – the mindset of joint creation
The natural continuation of open innovation is co-creation — a process where users, companies, and students collaboratively shape the innovation journey from idea to prototype. Co-creation makes innovation more human-centered, inclusive, and sustainable. Obuda University’s Demola Budapest program embodies this approach — it is a platform where students and business partners jointly work on real innovation challenges. Students gain hands-on experience and learn design thinking, while organizations receive fresh ideas and new perspectives.
