Innovation at Óbuda University

The InnoMeet XII event was successfully held, offering an exciting insight into university innovations and the practical side of startup thinking.

The evening was opened by Dr. Zsombor Zrubka, Director General of EKIK, with a welcoming speech, followed by the ÓE MVP competition pitch contest.

Out of the 16 participating teams, the 5 best ideas advanced to the second round. The finalist teams presented their innovative projects in 5-minute pitches, followed by a 5-minute Q&A session with the jury.

Next, attendees learned about an EKIK patent through a practical project implemented at Óbuda University. The presentation was given by Gergely Pósfai (R&D associate) and László Bacsa (Head of the Innovation Office), followed by a professional discussion featuring Csaba Árendás (Initium Zrt.) and Dr. Márta Alexy (founder, university lecturer, NIK).

During the evening, OUTFINO Europe Ltd. was also introduced, where Veszna Várhelyi (Investment Director, OUVC) and Marcell Nyírő (founder, ÓE student) shared their experiences.

At the MVP competition award ceremony, three projects were recognized:

🎖️ Special Award of Óbuda University–BKIK – ÁRLAP project

The event concluded with informal networking, where participants had the opportunity to personally share their thoughts, experiences, and future plans.
