Here’s your chance: apply for the free MIPEF patent courses!

Applications are now open for the European Patent Office’s (EPO) MIPEF programme: you can learn, free of charge, how an idea becomes a protected, market-ready invention – and you’ll receive an official EPO certificate at the end.
You can choose from three courses: the Entry level course is a good fit if you’re just getting familiar with the world of intellectual property, the Advanced level course is for those with some background already, and the IP Management course has a business and legal focus – strongly recommended if you’re studying economics, entrepreneurship, innovation management or law. MSc and PhD students can apply, and final-year (final-semester) BSc students are also welcome to join.
How do you get access?
1. Fill out this application form – provide your details and select which course you’d like access to.
2. Within a few days you’ll receive your personal access code by email, sent to the address you provided on the form.
3. Use your code to register for your chosen course on the EPO’s own website:
4. Curious what exactly awaits you in the courses? Find out more here: epo.org/MIPEF
Applications are open from 21 September to 14 October 2026 – don’t leave it to the last minute, since sending out the codes also takes a few days.
