The creative industries permeate our everyday lives, with their presence being perceptible in almost every area of our lives. This diverse sector encompasses a number of significant fields, including the fashion industry, advertising and media, furniture design and manufacturing, as well as architecture. The aim of this research is to explore the significance of the creative industries by examining various statistical data, existing empirical research, and established concepts such as the “Creative City” concept.

As part of the research, I examine the relevant stakeholders and review previously published development strategies and plans at both national and European levels. My objective is to gain valuable insights that will enable me to design a Creative Model Settlement in Ráckeve, located in a less-utilized area of the town, specifically designed to support and accommodate the needs of the creative industries.

Through my research, I aim to demonstrate that the proposed model settlement could have a positive impact on the development of Ráckeve by contributing to job creation, promoting the town, and increasing its overall attractiveness and value, thereby supporting its long-term development and prosperity. In addition to the development and rehabilitation of the site, a key objective of the model settlement is to incorporate solutions that could serve as a practical example and potentially be implemented in other municipalities as well. Such solutions include the use of modular systems, as well as sustainable and cost-effective design materials and methods.

Since creative industries tend to emerge primarily in large cities and around abandoned or underutilized industrial areas, municipalities that lack these characteristics may be excluded from the positive economic and social effects associated with creative activities. Therefore, one of the main objectives of this research is to propose a model settlement that could provide an alternative development approach for such municipalities in the future.
