Another Óbuda University success in the spotlight!
Our student, Simon Márton, a Computer Engineering student at the John von Neumann Faculty of Informatics, presented his project, Cropnaut, live on Duna TV’s Nyár ’26 program.
The project is built around water-efficient, data-driven farming. As one of its key features, Cropnaut combines data from a small number of soil sensors placed in the ground with satellite data to model water movement and soil moisture across an entire field at multiple soil depths, even providing forecasts several days in advance. This enables farmers to see exactly where and how much water is available in the soil, allowing them to irrigate only when it is truly necessary.
We are proud of Márton’s achievement and wish him continued success in the further development of his project!
