KOFFA is a sustainability-focused startup project that transforms coffee waste into biodegradable single-use coffee cups. Our mission is to close the loop within the coffee industry by collecting spent coffee grounds and coffee chaff from cafés and roasteries, then converting these waste streams into environmentally friendly coffee cups through our proprietary "Second Cup Technology."
The project addresses a significant environmental challenge: more than 30,000 tonnes of coffee-related waste are generated annually, while current circular solutions remain limited. KOFFA creates value from this waste by replacing conventional disposable cups with products made directly from coffee by-products, helping cafés reduce both waste generation and environmental impact.
Currently, KOFFA has developed a working prototype and MVP, secured coffee waste supply sources, established initial partnerships, and received interest from cafés and roasteries. The project aims to scale locally before expanding into broader hospitality and international markets.
