Young Entrepreneurs Meeting: 20 Years of the Global Student Entrepreneur Awards

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Global Student Entrepreneur Awards (GSEA), one of the world’s oldest and most prestigious competitions supporting young entrepreneurs. In Hungary, the Tech In The City and RCISD organized the competition for young innovators for the sixth time, once again as part of the Youth & University Entrepreneurship Day.

The event focused on entrepreneurial journeys, innovation, and local startup ecosystems, while providing young entrepreneurs with direct access to industry experts, academic leaders, and successful business founders.

Throughout the day, the Youth & University Entrepreneurship Day transformed into a genuine NextGen Campus: young innovators showcased their projects, developments, and ideas, while Foxconn presented the Foxconn Innovator of the Future Award.

On the GSEA Hungary stage, five talented young entrepreneurs presented their ventures, with Lőrinc Nagy winning this year’s Hungarian final – congratulations on this outstanding achievement!

Our university’s head of the innovation office, László Bacsa, also participated in the panel discussion “From Science to Startup: Bridging the Gap Between Ideation and Implementation”, sharing his experiences regarding the university’s innovation ecosystem.

The innovation office places special emphasis on fostering an innovation mindset and entrepreneurial skills among students, making it particularly gratifying that Óbuda University was among the event’s supporters.

The program also included inspiring panel discussions, the NexGen Showcase exhibition area, a podcast zone, and numerous pitch sessions, highlighting both the worlds of business and research. The event not only offered visibility but also valuable networking and collaboration opportunities for young talents and professionals alike.
